Gift cards are good idea . . . for the folks who are selling them. This survey conducted
by Consumers Union shows that an astounding $8 billion in gift cards went unredeemed last year and that 27% of cards purchased last year are still unused. The survey also revealed that more than 60% of all shoppers intend to buy gift cards during the coming holiday season.
