We've received the following call for papers:
This concerns professors, researchers, students, lawyers, jurists, heads of consumer associations, administrators of public bodies in charge of consumer protection, and policymakers in regional and international institutions.
The Groupe de Recherche en Droit International et Comparé de la Consommation (Gredicc or Research Group in International and Comparative Consumer Law), from the Law Departement of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and the Euro-american Research Chair on Consumer Protection created by the University of Cantabria (Santander, Spain) are planning an international conference on the following topic: The status of consumer protection policy in regional economically integrated systems in the Americas and Europe.
The conference will be held on 18 and 19 October 2007 in Montreal. The main objective is to describe and assess how consumer protection considerations are held relevant in the agreements establishing NAFTA, MERCOSUR, the European Community, the Andean Community and CARICOM. Regional achievements in the field of consumer protection will be compared and assessed.
The organizing committee invites all interested persons to submit a proposal of paper before May 31stth 2007, at 16h30. The submission must include the following information: lecturer’s full name and address, work phone number, email address, affiliated organization, curriculum vitae, title and summary of the paper (in 150 to 200 words). The oral presentation of the paper would not exceed 20 minutes. A full written version of the paper will have to be available by 15 September 2007 and will be evaluated for publication together with the proceedings of the conference.
The organizers are not bind to accept every project received. A selection will be made in function of the relevance of the proposed topic and lecturer’s qualifications. Selected papers will be known no later than 30 June 2007.
