How about putting the real figures in these news stories, i.e. 1.8 million foreclosures (which I believe is low) at 2.7 people per home (not to mention cats, dogs, etc.) translates to more than 6 million PEOPLE have lost their homes, life disrupted, communities broken. Writing about "foreclosure" and "lost homes" reminds me of war, as in "the enemy" rather than people and who they are. You are dehumanizing stories by not including families and what this does. Also, indications are that temporary modifications do not work, particularly in this time of rampant unemployment, which is how some of these families fell behind in the first place.

Banks are not foreclosing homes, they are throwing people out into the street even though they have federal funds and a federal mandate to assist.
