A new HBO documentary entitled "Hot Coffee: Is Justice Being Served?" premiers tonight, Monday, June 27, at 9 pm eastern and pacific time (8 pm central time) (People in the mountain states are not permitted to watch.) The documentary concerns the corporate disinformation campaign -- largely successful to date -- to depict the civil justice system as corrupt and rife with frivolous litigation that benefits only lawyers, not injured people and not society at large. The documentary's title refers to the famous McDonald's Coffee Case, erroneously depicted by the anti-civil-justice system crowd as the epitome of frivilous litigation.
