Most employers do criminal background checks on job applicants. That's a real problem, says the National Consumer Law Center, whose new report on the issue finds that these background checks are riddled with serious errors. Unfortunately when an applicant puts on an application they have been convicted, regardless of what it is, they are usually tossed in the round file and not even given a chance to explain.
